Performing a Mail Out for Letters, Envelopes and Labels

The Perform Mail Out wizard guides you through the steps needed to select a template, select recipients, and distribute the resulting letter/envelope/label.

Top Producer 8i enables you to perform a mail out from a number of different areas, all of which flow through the Perform Mail Out wizard. The topic you are reading now will cover the most common way of performing a mail out. For a complete reference of the ways of reaching the wizard, see "The Select Template Screen".

To perform a mail out:

  1. From the Select Template screen, select the category and template, specify mail out details, and then click Next. More Info:triangle.gif

  2. From the Select Recipient screen, enter a description, select the recipient(s), and then click Create [Mail Type]. More Info:triangle.gif

  3. From the third step of the wizard, edit the letter, envelope or label, if desired. More Info:triangle.gif

  4. Click:

    The mail out is saved and can be accessed from the Activities Summary screen.

  • If printing a letter, you will be offered the option of printing either a label or an envelope to accompany the letter (at the bottom of the Preview Activity screen). For more information on printing matching envelopes and labels, see "Printing Letters, Envelopes and Labels".

  • If after printing the mail out you are satisfied with the result, you can click the Mark Done link on step 3 of the wizard. This will mark the activity done and prevent the mail out activity from appearing on the Activities Summary screen.

The mail out is saved and can be accessed from the Activities Summary screen.
