Top Producer Editor Toolbar Commands

A standard assortment of editing and formatting options is available for letter, envelope, label, postcard, flyer and presentation templates within the Top Producer Editor.

 Note: Merge codes appear as yellow boxes once inserted and cannot be edited.

Top Toolbar

Click Print to print the document. The local Print window will appear and will allow you to specify your print settings.

Click Save as PDF file to save a local copy of your document in Adobe PDF format. From the Save As dialog, browse your computer for a local folder in which to save the file, provide a file name, and click Save. You can view PDF files using the freely available Adobe Reader.

 Click Undo to undo your last set of operations, or Redo to redo your last operations.

Use these icons to Cut and Copy selected text, then Paste elsewhere on the page.

Click Find and replace to find and/or replace text.

Click the Spellcheck icon to check your entire document or selected text.

Use the Zoom control to change the zoom level in the document.

Click the Preferences icon to set ruler and guideline preferences. Select the Show rulers check box to display the rulers. Select the Show guidelines check box to use guidelines. Select the Snap to guidelines check box to have objects automatically align themselves with the guidelines.

Click the Insert text box icon to add a text box. If the box is placed over other text it will displace the other text to wrap around the box. Type your text into the box. You can resize the box by clicking and dragging the square "handles" around the inner border. Resize the "padding" area between the outer and inner boxes. Click and drag the text box to position it in your document.

Click Insert picture from file to add a picture into your document. Click and drag in the middle of the box to move it. You can resize the picture by clicking and dragging the square "handles" around the inner border. If the picture is placed over text it will displace the other text to wrap around the picture. Resize the "padding" area between the picture and surrounding text by clicking and dragging the outer border.

Click Insert inline picture from file to insert a stationary picture along the left margin. Select the maintain aspect ratio check box to keep the height-to-width proportion when resizing the picture. Right-click on the image to display a properties menu that allows you to change the size and alignment of your picture.

Click Create header and footer to insert header and/or footer information into your document.

Click Insert page numbers to insert page numbers into your document.

Click Page setup to define paper size and margins.

Click About the Top Producer Editor to view the version of the editor you are using.

 

Bottom Toolbar

Click the Font type drop-down to change the text font. If text is selected, the selected text is changed. If no text is selected, any text typed from the cursor's current position will reflect the setting.

Click the Font size drop-down to change the size of the text. If text is selected, the selected text is changed. If no text is selected, any text typed from the cursor's current position will reflect the setting.

Use the Font color icon and its drop-down to change the color of the text. If text is selected, the selected text is changed. If no text is selected, any text typed from the cursor's current position will reflect the setting.

Click these icons to Bold, Italic,and Underline text.

Use these alignment icons to align text to the Left, Center, or Right. If text is selected, the selected text is changed. If no text is selected, the current paragraph and any text typed from the cursor's current position will reflect the setting.

Click the Numbered list icon to create a numbered list. If text is selected, the selected text is changed. If no text is selected, any text typed from the cursor's current position will reflect the setting.

Click the Bullets icon to create a bulleted list. If text is selected, the selected text is changed. If no text is selected, any text typed from the cursor's current position will reflect the setting.

Use the Increase indent icon to change the indent from the margin (in 0.5 inch increments). If text is selected, the selected text is changed. If no text is selected, the current paragraph and any text typed from the cursor's current position will reflect the setting.

Click the Frame styles icon to change the background and border color of text boxes and picture boxes.

• The Borders setting is defaulted to no border. Select the item you wish to give a border to and then select which border you would like.

• The (border) color setting allows you to change the color for your border.

• The (border) width setting allows you to change the width of your border. For example, select a line of 1/4 pt. weight, 1/2 pt. weight, 1 pt. weight, etc.

• The (border) style setting allows you to adjust the border style. For example, select a continuous line, a dotted line, dashed line, etc.

• The background setting allows you to change the color of the background.

Use the Bring to front and Send to back icons to put the selected picture or text box to the foreground or background.

Click the Insert hyperlink icon to insert a hyperlink into the document. The Insert hyperlink pop-up window opens, enabling you to enter the hyperlink text and the URL or website address.
