Our research reveals a single message that can get 700% more leads

We recently partnered with REALTOR.com in an ambitious market research project aimed at uncovering a single message that resonates with consumers in today’s market conditions. Intrigued? Read on for the results.

Marketing messages of the past are losing their effectiveness

As you know, consumer confidence has plummeted in the past year(s). As a result, messages that were once effective have started shifting drastically as consumers began asking different questions.  What we found in our research is that consumers are ignoring the vast majority of real estate marketing because the anxiety they have about entering the housing market has not been adequately acknowledged.

Unfortunately, many agents have continued promoting their services the same way they always have.  It’s no wonder that many agents told us they were no longer receiving the same number or quality of leads that they had in the past.

We tested various types of messaging on millions of consumers online and through direct mail. This included 11 million visitors to REALTOR.com®, 5 million postcard recipients, and 50,000 Market Snapshot interactions. The results revealed one single message that increased lead generation by 700%! The message that proved to most effectively capture the attention of consumers is:

“Has the market stabilized?”

In an uncertain market, it’s no surprise that consumers want to know whether or not it’s safe to make a move. This is the very question that addresses their anxiety…
