I’ve been using both Top Producer and a Top Producer Website since 2006.
Sometime in 2007, I launched a second Top Producer website for a more targeted audience. I live in a small town that borders London, sort of a bedroom community, and I wanted to have a focused website on that niche market to ensure that I was not only marketing myself well in the London area, but also closer to home. The traffic counts to this secondary website are obviously much lower, but because of the lack of direct competition, I’ve been able to fairly easily make this website dominate the search engines for top placements in the results lists.
Over the past 12 months, I’ve closed 8 deals as a direct result of my Top Producer Website has drawn alone.
Internet marketing is an interesting area. Many people, including my previous broker, felt that this was likely to provide some business, but not all. I’d like to think that I’m slowly proving him wrong. Having only been in business since the beginning of 2007, I haven’t had a lot of time to build a large client database. Yet based on my internet marketing, and a few referrals, I was able to close 24 deals last year, and over the past 12 months, I’ve closed 8 deals I believe, as a direct result of the internet exposure my website has drawn alone.
Last year alone, between my two Top Producer websites I had over 100,000 visits, working out to over 270 visits each day of the year.
In combination with some research on meta tags and search engine optimization, I have managed to rocket my primary website, www.WilsonSells.ca, to rank at the top of the organic search results in Google and on the first pages for both Yahoo and MSN search engines for the most commonly searched keyword combinations. In fact, I had one client call me and say that she had “Googled ‘Top REALTORS in London Ontario’” and refused to list with my associate whom I had referred her to because she wanted to list with “the best”.
In the first half of 2009, my Top Producer websites have had over 60,000 visits comprised of over 17,500 unique visitors.
Even in this “tough market” my website numbers are continuing to climb. I’ve been so impressed with the results, that I just recently opened a third Top Producer website, and hope to have it up and running in the next week or so, to take over from another web hosting company.
One of the areas I intend to be addressing in the coming months is further transforming my websites into “viral” sites.
At a recent ABR course, it was strongly recommended that agents create a “viral website”, one that continues to draw people back to it, regardless of whether they’re an active buyer or seller. Things like RSS news feed, current weather conditions, area activities and events, maybe even movie listings?? All I know is that the more people think of using my site as their one stop source for local information, the more I’m branding myself and setting myself up for huge rewards down the road.

The ease of setup and default content allowed me to immediately get my first website up and running without delay, and the multiple levels of customization offered by Top Producer in designing unique page layouts, and the default content worked great with my knowledge of my marketplace. Over time I was able to customize each page and slowly work at building a comprehensive website covering my market in detail. Now I just need to continue working at my other Top Producer websites in the same fashion, and with any luck, I’ll continue to dominate my market in web presence.
At the very reasonable price of a Top Producer website, along with the interconnectivity provided with 7i or 8i, Top Producer blogs, and my IDX, I can’t imagine continuing my business without my Top Producer Websites.
