Today's business not only provides a numeric count of scheduled activities, but it also does the following:

  1. Gives you instant access to the activities themselves, letting you review their details and mark them done as they are completed.
  2. Allows you to print a daily, weekly or monthly business report of selected appointment, to-do and call lists.
  3. Allows you to print daily, weekly or monthly Marketing service reports to show your sellers all of the listing activities that you've completed.
  4. Keeps track of the items that don't get done so you can address them the next day, or whenever you get time.
  5. Allows you to monitor all of the activities you delegate to your assistants.

With all these features, Today's business is like an electronic assistant that reminds you of the day's potential activities so you can decide what's important and design an agenda for maximum profit and productivity.

It's going to be a crazy day. Before even booting up your computer and looking at Today's business you know that you've got the office meeting and tour this morning, some appointments this afternoon and a sale to close this evening.

However, you also know from experience that you've got to make time every day for the prospecting fundamentals. So when you scroll through all the activities associated with Today's business you highlight and print out lists of all the follow-up calls you decided were high and medium priority at last contact. Plan A -- if you end up being as busy today as you think you're going to be -- is to make sure you at least deal with the high priorities. Plan B -- if you have more time today than you expect -- is to also deal with as many of the medium priorities as you can. And if, unlikely as it might be, you still have time left over after taking care of your medium priorities, then Plan C might include targeting some letters to a segment of your prospect base.

P r a c t i c a l   T e c h n i q u e:

If you want the Today's business window to be automatically displayed when you start up TOP PRODUCER, simply do the following:

  • Click on Setup in the tool bar
  • Click on Agent setup
  • Click on System defaults
  • Click on Auto display Today's business on start up
  • Click on OK

To print a list of your high and medium priority follow-up calls:

  • Highlight Calls in Today's business and click on OK
  • Highlight the desired contacts by holding down the control key (ctrl) and clicking
  • Click on Print list
  • Click on OK in the Print window

To print your scheduled letters:

  • Highlight Letters in Today's business and click on OK
  • Click on Select all
  • Click on Print
  • Click on OK in the Print window

To print a Marketing service report for your sellers:

  • Highlight Service reports in Today's business and click on OK to display the Scheduled service reports window
  • Click on the down arrow to the right of the Assigned to field to select the agent whose events you wish to print
  • Click the down arrow to the right of the View options field to select the desired sort option (eg. Listing)
  • Click on View/Modify to display the Print marketing service report window
  • Click on Report options and set the desired options in the Include/Exclude, Report text and Colors windows
  • Click on OK to return to the Print marketing service report window
  • Edit the Introductory comments and Summary remarks as desired
  • Enter the desired date range
  • Click on Print this report
  • Click on OK in the Print window
