Step 4 of 4 - Sync/Data Import

The last step of the Setup Wizard provides options for synchronizing your Google account with Top Producer, and importing information from a file or another program. It is highly recommended that you sync or import any contacts you may have as soon as possible, as it provides a basis to begin using the features of Top Producer.

Sync/Data Import

  1. If you do not wish to import contacts right now, select I don't want to import data at this time, then click Done.
  2. If you would like to synchronize your Google account with Top Producer, select the Google option. Synchonization includes the ability to sync your Contacts and Calendar, and the ability to store emails from gmail inside Top Producer Contact Records. To complete the Google Sync setup, follow the steps in the Google Sync Setup article.
  3. If you would like to import contacts, select Import data into Top Producer or convert a 6i database. This will display the import options.

    Each of the three tools is used for a specific purpose. Click one of the links on the page to download that tool:

    Data Import Tools

    1. Top Producer Import Tool: Convert and import data from third-party applications, such as Microsoft Outlook, Microsoft Excel, ACT!, and industry standard CSV (comma-separated value) data files. For more information about how to use this tool, read Using the Top Producer Import Tool to Import Your Data.
    2. Top Producer 6i Data Conversion Tool: Convert and import data from previous versions of Top Producer, such as Top Producer 5.1, System 6, and 6i. For more information about how to use this tool, read Using the 6i Data Conversion Tool to Perform a Data Conversion.
    3. Top Producer Online Software Conversion Tool: Convert and import data from other Customer Relationship Management (CRM) applications, such as Online Agent, Agent 2000, and AgentOffice.  For more information about how to use this tool, read Using the Online Software Conversion Wizard.

    Tip: Importing contacts can be done at any time, so if you choose not to download an import tool here, they can still be accessed from within the Top Producer Settings. Learn how to download the import tools after completing the Setup Wizard.

When finished, click Done to close the wizard.

Congratulations! You may now start using Top Producer!

You have now completed the initial setup of Top Producer. We highly recommend that you immediately install the Top Producer Editor on your computer, as it is required to edit templates and send emails. To learn how, read Installing the Top Producer Editor.
