When you click Copy to TP or Send and Copy to TP, Outlook Connector searches your Top Producer database for the email address(s) associated with the email you have selected. When it locates a contact record that contains the email address, it places a copy of the email in the contact record as a Completed Activity.
To view the copied email, open the Contact Record, click the Activities tab, and in the Show: pulldown menu select Complete. The email activity will appear in the list and you can view the email details, content, and attachments.
Please follow the instructions "Configuring Outlook 2007 to access an @topproducer.com email account", which is part of the Outlook Connector setup article, located here.
The two most common reasons that Outlook would encounter this error when trying to send email using your @topproducer.com account are:
- There is an issue with your POP3 configuration settings for your account.
- Your Internet Service Provider is blocking access to Outgoing Email Servers that are not part of their own services.
First, verify that your POP3 settings are correct. Full instructions on how to set up Outlook to send and receive email from your @topproducer.com account can be found here.
If you have verfied your settings are correct and still cannot send email, it is likely your ISP is blocking access to smtp.topproducer.com (the outgoing mail server used for your @topproducer.com account). To work around this, change the Outgoing Mail Server for your @topproducer.com account to be the Outgoing Mail Server belonging to your Internet Service Provider. Recipients of your emails will still see your @topproducer.com email address and all other functionality will remain the same.
If you do not know your ISP's Outgoing Mail Server and you have another POP3 email account configured in Outlook that can send email, examine the POP3 settings for that account and copy the Outgoing Server information.
If you do not have another email account configured, and cannot locate the server information, contact your Internet Service Provider for the correct settings.
