Top Producer 8i offers powerful email capabilities for communicating with clients and coworkers. Before you can use the email feature in 8i, you need to set up your email account. You can configure your “@topproducer.com” email account, POP3 email accounts, or activate your Top Producer Outlook Connector to manage your emails via Microsoft Outlook. If you want to use a different email program you can choose not to use 8i’s email feature.

Option 1: Configure Your @topproducer.com Account

1. Select the Top Producer Email (@topproducer.com & POP3) option button to open the Email Settings form within the Email Account Setup segment.

2. Type your email username.
3. Click the Create email button.

Option 2: Configure Your POP3 Accounts

1. Select the Top Producer Email (@topproducer.com & POP3) option button to open the Email Settings form within the Email Account Setup segment.
2. Click the Add POP3 Account link. The Add External Email (POP3) Account form opens within the Email Account Setup segment.

3. Type your Username and Password. If you don’t know the Mail Server, contact your email service provider. Leave the field blank until you get this information.

4. If you’d like to be able to access the emails from their original location after you’ve downloaded them into 8i, click the Yes option button next to the Leave Mail on Server option.
5. Click the Add Account button.

Option 3: Disabling 8i’s Email Feature

Select the Do not use Top Producer for my email, use my 3rd party email client option button. When you send an email, 8i will open the Internet browser’s default email program.

Option 4: Setting Up Outlook Connector

If you’ve purchased a license for Outlook Connector, and you’d like to use it instead of Top Producer 8i’s email manager, you can set up 8i to launch Microsoft Outlook. For more information on Outlook Connector, click here.
