Newsletter Setup
Note: Although you must use the same newsletter format for all recipients, you can change the format at any time. Changing the format will only affect subsequent newsletters, the format of previous newsletters will remain unchanged.
Before you can customize your newsletter, select the content and specify approval and invitation settings, the first thing you will need to do is define which area will be featured in your newsletters. To incorporate the newsletter in your website or in other online media, please see Link to Current Newsletter.
To Select an Area:
For your first newsletter, you must select the target Area. Once you have selected your target area, you can then customize the format for the newsletter.
- Go to the Newsletter Setup page. Hover your cursor over the Setup icon along the menu and select Newsletter Setup.
- From the Area drop-down menu, select one of the areas you defined in Area Management.
Important: The name you have created for this area will be displayed in various locations of the newsletter and in the emails sent to consumers. Make sure you have named your area something that is easily recognized by both you and your subscribers.

To Customize the Newsletter:

- In the Customization section, you can select or change the color scheme of the newsletter.
- To view online samples of the default background header images for each color scheme, click the View Newsletter Colors link.
- Enter the title of your newsletter into the Custom Introductory Title field.
- Enter your introductory text into the Custom Introductory Text field.
- If desired, select an image for the background of the newsletter heading. To select an image, click Browse, locate the image on your computer and click Open. When you save the Newsletter Setup, your image will be included.
Note: It is highly recommended that you choose to create and upload your own image to replace the default image used in the header. For best image quality, you should ensure it matches the exact dimensions of the header, which is 290px wide by 194px tall. Thiswill ensure that your image is displayed without distortion.
To Select Content for the Newsletter:
In the Market Data Graphs and Articles section, you can choose to display up to four different data graphs as part of your newsletter. This data is designed to engage the recipient by showing them useful and relevant information. Each graph can be accompanied by an article, an image, or you can enter your own custom text.
The following data graphs are available:
To Change or Add a Market Data Graph:

- Select the graph you would like to appear from the Market Data Type drop down menu.
Note: If you select the Average Listing Price (single property type) option, you will need to select which property type data should be used from the Property Type drop down menu.
- In the Also Display area, select whether you want an Article, Image or Custom Text to appear to the right of the graph.
- If you select Article, you will need to select which article you would like to display from the drop down menu. There are several pre-made articles you can choose from, each of which are designed to apply to a variety of markets and are not "dated", so they will not become irrelevant.
- If you select Image, you will need to select which image you would like to display from the drop down menu. The drop down menu contains several themed photos that you can pick from.
- If you would prefer to write your own article, you can select the Custom Text option and enter your article in the text box that is displayed.
- Click the Preview Article / Preview Image link to see the article content.
- To remove a graph, click on the Trash
icon in the lower right hand corner. - To add another graph, click the Add Another Graph link, then repeat steps 1 and 2.
To Select Your Email Invitations and Approval Settings:

- To automatically subscribe contacts to your newsletter, select the Do not send invitation email to Market Snapshot subscribers, contacts imported from Top Producer 8i ® and existing inquiries and/or the Do not send invitation email to manually added contacts option.
Note: If selected, these contacts will automatically receive newsletters without receiving an invitation email to opt-in. A link to opt-out will be available in all newsletter notification emails they receive.
- Select the Auto-approve Newsletter every month option if you do not want to approve each newsletter before it is sent out. If selected, monthly newsletters will be automatically sent to your active subscribers without first requiring your approval.
Link to Current Newsletter
Besides sending the newsletter automatically to your subscribers, you may find it useful to be able to email your newsletter to other people. You can include the newsletter as a link on your website, or you can advertise it via other online media such as Facebook or Twitter. The Link to Current Newsletter section provides the direct URL link to your current newsletter.

- To obtain the link to your newsletter, click the Get Text Link button.
- In the Email Link field, highlight the entire URL and copy it (CTRL+C). You can then paste the url into your desired location, such as in a promotional email, a website post, or a social media update.
Note: If this is the first time you are setting up Newsletter Setup, your newsletter has not yet been generated. While the link provided is accurate, attempting to view your newsletter before it is generated will instead display a sample newsletter with sample data. Once you have saved your settings and the newsletter has been generated, visiting the URL will display your customized newsletter.
Once you have setup your newsletter, you can either click on Save and Close, or click on Next > to move to the next step of the setup wizard; both options will begin generating the newsletter.
