Newsletter Setup

You can choose what to include in your Newsletter from a selection of formats and content. For your first Newsletter, you need to select the area you want to feature and customize the format. For this, and subsequent Newsletters, you must select the content. Although you must use the same format for all recipients, you can change the format at any time. Changing it will not affect the format of previous Newsletters.

You first need to define which area will be featured in your Newsletter. Then you can customize your Newsletter, select the content and specify approval and invitation settings.

To select an area:

  1. Go directly to the Newsletter Setup page. How?closetriangle.gif

    The Newsletter Setup page opens.

  2. From the Area drop-down list, select one of the areas you defined in Area Management.

To customize the Newsletter:

  1. In the Customization area, optionally select or change the color scheme of the Newsletter.

  2. A default image is automatically selected for the color scheme you choose.

    Tip: View samples of the default header images for each color scheme by clicking View Newsletter Colors.

  3. Enter a title and some introductory content to appear at the top of the Newsletter.

  4. Optionally select an image for the Newsletter header (see Select Header Image).

  5. You are ready to select the content.

To select content for the Market Trends Newsletter:

  1. Select the graph and property type, if applicable.

  2. Select the content you want to appear in your newsletter. Depending on the type, select the article, image or custom text you want to appear.

  3. Note: Every month the Newsletter is sent out, a new article or image will be included that is based on the series you choose. However, you can select a different article or image during the approval process, if desired.

  4. To include more than one graph, click Add Another Graph and then repeat steps 1 and 2 above.

To select your invitation and approval settings:

  1. In the Email Invitations and Newsletter Approval Settings area, automatically subscribe specific contacts to your Newsletter by selecting either of the first two check boxes.

  2. If selected, these contacts will automatically receive Newsletters without receiving an invitation email to opt-in. A link to opt-out will be available in all Newsletter notification emails they receive.

  3. Select the Auto-approve Newsletter every month check box if you do not want to approve each Newsletter before it is sent out.

  4. If selected, Newsletters will be automatically sent to your active subscribers without requiring your approval.

    Warning: If this option is selected, you will not be able to edit your Newsletter before it is sent to your subscribers.

  5. When done, click Save to begin generating the Newsletter

Notes:

  • Generation of the Newsletter starts immediately, but completion may take longer if Market Data needs to be retrieved.

  • You can change some settings—such as the color theme—up to the point when you approve the Newsletter.

  • Depending on the availability of new data for the following month, you may not be able to change either the area or graph selection until after you have approved the current Newsletter. Any changes you do make would be reflected in the next Newsletter.
