Writing a Blog Post

Each post should be filed under one or more categories. This aids in navigation and allows posts to be grouped with similar content. Each post can be listed under custom categories.

To Write a Post:

  1. Log on to your Blog Dashboard.
  2. The QuickPress applet is in the top right corner and where you can compose your post.

    1. Title: Add the post's name. You can use any words or phrases. Avoid using the same title twice as that will cause confusion. You can use commas, apostrophes, quotes, hypens/dashes, and other typical symbols in the title. Example: "My Site - Welcome to my Site!"
    2. Content: Add text, links, images, and anything else you want in your post. Use the buttons to add effects such as bold, italic, bullets, and more. If additional information is needed (like when creating a link), a pop-up window appears for you to fill in the details.
    3. Tags: Enter keywords here to describe the post. Posts with similar tags are linked together when a user clicks one of the tags.
    4. Save Draft / Reset / Publish Buttons: Click Save Draft to save a copy of the post but not publish it. Click Reset to clear everything entered into the QuickPress applet. Click Publishto save the post and publish it so it can be viewed on the blog.

    To Insert an Image:

    1. Place your cursor where you want to insert the image in the Post field.
    2. Click the Add an Image icon to display the Add an Image pop-up.
