Installing Microsoft Java
If you followed the instructions from the "Your Internet Browser Settings Are Incorrect" Error Message article and you still receive the "Your Internet Browser Settings Are Incorrect" error when trying to login to Top Producer 7i, you will need to install the Microsoft Java Virtual Machine (JVM).
The JVM is a software interface that allows internet applications such as Top Producer 7i to operate on and communicate with your computers hardware and operating system. On newer computers, the Microsoft JVM is not installed by default. Because of this, disabling the Sun JVM will not solve the issue that causes the "Your internet browser settings are incorrect" window to be displayed.
In some cases, the Microsoft JVM installed on your computer may contain some files that are corrupted or not the correct version, which can cause problems when logging into Top Producer 7i. The standard solution to correct both of these problems is to reinstall the Microsoft JVM and make sure that it is updated to the most current version.
The installation process is performed in two stages. First, the basic Microsoft JVM is installed. Second, the Microsoft JVM is updated to the latest version. Both steps must be performed to properly install the Microsoft JVM.
Important!
The steps below do not apply to Windows 2000. If you are using Windows 2000 and still cannot login to Top Producer 7i, please contact Top Producer Technical Support.
If you are using Windows NT, do not continue below unless you are running Service Pack 3 (SP3) or higher.
If you are using Windows 95, 98, ME, XP, or Windows NT with SP3, continue with the steps below to install the Microsoft JVM.
- Close all currently open applications.
- Click the following hyperlink to download the msj1.exe file from our website: http://www.topproducer.com/downloads/msj1.exe.
- From the File Download window, click Save.
- From the Save in: drop-down list, select the Desktop folder.
- Click Save. The file will begin to download to your Desktop.
- When the download is complete, locate and double-click the msj1.exe file on your Desktop. When prompted if you would like to install the Microsoft JVM, click Yes.
- Click Yes to accept the license agreement, and then wait until the installation is complete. This will update all the computer's JVM files at once.
- When the installation is complete window appears, click OK, and restart your computer.
- Once the computer has restarted, click the following hyperlink to download the msj2.exe file from our website: http://www.topproducer.com/downloads/msj2.exe.
- From the File Download window, click Save.
- From the Save in: drop-down list, select the Desktop folder.
- Click Save. The file will begin to download to your Desktop.
- When the download is complete, locate and double-click the msj2.exe file on your Desktop. When prompted if you would like to install the Microsoft JVM, click Yes.
- Click Yes to accept the license agreement, and then wait until the installation is complete. This will update all the computer’s JVM files at once.
- When the installation is complete window appears, click OK, and restart your computer.
- Login to Top Producer 7i.
