Updating Top Producer 7i Remote after the May 11th, 2007 program update
As of May 11th, 2007, users of Top Producer 7i Remote will receive an error message when they attempt to sync their Remotes. This is due to the fact that several of the program's components will require an update. Follow the steps below to perform that update:
- Open Top Producer 7i Remote.
- Perform a synchronization.
- The program will prompt that Top Producer 7i Remote must be updated. The program
files required for the update will be downloaded to your computer. Note:
The download of updated program files will take some time due to its size. Make
sure that you do not interrupt the download, and if possible, avoid the use of wireless
or dial up Internet connections.
- Once the files are downloaded, click on Continue. You will receive
an error message which states the following:
"Top Producer 7i Remote has encountered an error. Please run the application
again."
Click on the Ok button to close the error message and Top Producer
7i Remote.
- Open Top Producer 7i Remote again. The update process will now begin.
Note: The update may last 20 – 30 minutes. Please do not interrupt
the update.
- After the update is complete, the user will be prompted to synchronize Top Producer.
Click Continue to start the sync.
Once the sync completes, you may use Top Producer 7i Remote.

What are the system requirements for Top Producer 7i Remote?

How often do I have to synchronize my data in Top Producer 7i Remote?
It is mandatory to synchronize your data every fifteen days. However, it is recommended
to synchronize as often as possible. One to three times per week is a good schedule.
Note: If you do not synchronize your data for fifteen days, you will NOT be able
to use Top Producer 7i Remote until you perform a synchronization.

How many computers can Top Producer 7i Remote be installed on?
One Top Producer 7i Remote license allows you to install Top Producer 7i Remote
on one computer. In other words, if you want to install Top Producer 7i Remote on
two computers you would need to subscribe to two licenses.
In addition, you must at a minimum have as many Top Producer 7i user licenses as
you have Remote licenses. For example, if you only have a single Top Producer 7i
agent license (no other agent or assistant licenses), then you can only subscribe
to one Top Producer 7i Remote license.

Once Top Producer 7i Remote is installed, is there a limit to how many users can access the program?
Every user who subscribes to the same Top Producer 7i Account (agents, assistants, partners etc.) can access Top Producer 7i Remote using their unique username and password, regardless of whether they have a Top Producer 7i Remote license. The only limitation is that the user who is assigned the Top Producer 7i Remote license is the only one who can synchronize the database with Top Producer 7i.
Note: Each Top Producer 7i Remote license can be installed to a single computer only.

Can I work in Top Producer 7i and synchronize Top Producer 7i Remote at the same time?
No. In a similar fashion to the way that the Top Producer 7i for Palm handhelds application functions, all users must be logged out of Top Producer 7i when synchronizing Top Producer 7i Remote. Therefore, it is recommended to synchronize at a time when access to Top Producer 7i will not be required.

Can I purchase Top Producer 7i Remote on CD?
No. Once you subscribe to Top Producer 7i Remote, the newest version of the installation
software is always available over the Internet from within the Top Producer 7i application.
Note: Whenever you synchronize, a version check will
be performed and if a newer version is available you will be prompted to download
and install the newer version.

When I try to synchronize, a message informs me that following the synchronization I must transfer my Top Producer 7i database to Top Producer 7i Remote. Why?
This means that sometime since your last synchronization you have imported contacts
into your Top Producer 7i account using the Data Transfer or Data Conversion wizard.
In this case it is required to transfer the data from Top Producer 7i to Top Producer
7i Remote. This is done to maintain the integrity of your data.
All new data entered into your Top Producer 7i Remote program will be synchronized.
The data transfer will begin following the synchronization. You will be unable to
access either program until the data transfer has completed.
