Manager account correctly.
Section 4 - Creating Lead Inquiry pages
Top Producer 7i has the ability to create custom Lead Inquiry forms for use with
our servers, or with your own. This method of lead gathering is free as part of
your Top Producer 7i subscription.
There are two types of Lead Inquiry forms Top Producer 7i can create: Template,
or Custom. Template Lead Inquiry forms are created by choosing form elements from
a template. A "wizard" interface will ask you questions about what elements you
want in your Lead Inquiry form, and create the form based on your answers. This
page is then hosted from your Top Producer 7i account; no external web site or knowledge
of web programming is required. The "template" Lead Inquiry form is recommended
for most users.
Custom Lead Inquiry forms are created by selecting the information fields you want
to ask potential leads for (i.e. price range, area, contact information), then generating
source code which can be modified and placed on your server or external web site.
Note The custom Lead Inquiry form generated by Top Producer
7i only contains basic code to allow the page to function. If you would like to
modify the page for formatting or add content, this is beyond what Top Producer
7i Technical Support will be able to assist you with. If you wish to modify a Custom
Lead Inquiry form, you will require advanced web programming skills, or know someone
with these skills who can modify the page for you.
If you would like to use your Top Producer 7i account to host your Lead Inquiry
form, then proceed to step 1 below. If you would like to create a fully customized
Lead Inquiry form to be used on your own server or external web site, skip to section
4.1.
- Log in to Top Producer 7i.
- Point to Setup, then click My lead
inquiry form.
- Click Create new.
- Under Page layout, select the type of Lead Inquiry form you would like to
have. The only difference between the choices is the number of fields for prospective
leads to enter information. A preview will show you what fields are in each template
later in the process. When you have decided on a template, click Next.
-
Note You can create an unlimited amount of
Lead Inquiry forms, but you can only have one of each template type hosted from
your Top Producer 7i account at the same time.
- Configure the Agent Photo and Company Logo as required. These images are brought
by default from the Agent setup section of Top Producer 7i. In the upper left corner,
select the location for the Agent Photo and Company Logo from the Location of agent
picture drop-down menu. Wherever you choose the Agent Photo to be located, the Company
Logo will be located directly opposite from it at the top of the page. When finished,
click Next.
- Select the appropriate font and color scheme for your Lead Inquiry form. To test,
click the Preview my lead inquiry form now link. A browser
window will open and display the Lead Inquiry form as it would appear with your
current selections. If you would like to use the default template settings, enable
the checkbox beside Use Top Producer background.
- When you are done, click Finish. You will be returned
to the My lead inquiry form page.
Once you have finished creating a Lead Inquiry form, you will see it appear in the
My lead inquiry form page. The URL (web location) of the page will be listed
in the Lead inquiry form address (URL) field. If you would like to copy this
address, for use in email or to put on a web site, select the Lead Inquiry form
from the list, then click the Get URL link to copy the
URL to the Windows Clipboard. To paste the URL into the body of an email or other
document, press CTRL-V on your keyboard.
In addition, if you would like to get a copy of the Lead Inquiry form to put on
your own site, click Get source code. This will allow
you to save the form as either an ASP or CPP file. To determine which file type
to save as, please consult with your web site administrator.
Section 4.1 - Creating a custom Lead Inquiry form
Another method of creating Lead Inquiry forms is to create a completely custom form.
This allows you to choose what fields you want to include in the form, and removes
all formatting which would be present when using a template.
To create a custom form, follow the steps below:
- Log in to Top Producer 7i.
- Point to Setup, then click My lead
inquiry form.
- Click Create custom.
- From the List of available fields window, select all fields you would like
to have included in your form. After you have selected your fields, click
Add to move the fields into the List of fields to generate source code
window. Each of the fields in the List of fields to generate source code
window will be available in the final Lead Inquiry form.
- To preview what fields are included in the form, click the
View in browser link. When you are satisfied with the fields included in
your form, click Generate source code. This will allow
you to save the form as either an ASP or CPP file. To determine which file type
to save as, please consult with your web site administrator.
Note It is recommended to add formatting
code to the ASP or CPP form generated by Top Producer 7i, as opposed to copying
code from the page generated by Top Producer 7i and copying it into a template.
Depending on the type of template used, the form may not function correctly.

Using the 'My customer web pages' feature
Top Producer 7i lets agents create web pages where clients can view everything an
agent has done to market and sell their home. Once you create a customer web page,
the web-address, along with a user name and password can be sent by email to your
client. Once the client accesses the web-address and logs in, they can view exactly
what’s happening with the sale of their home.
Customer web pages are basically a personalized online version of your clients listing
and/or closing service report. The client you create the web page for must have
a listing or closing record in Top Producer 7i, and the listing (or closing) must
contain some completed activities. Otherwise, the customer web page will be empty.
When you create the customer web page, you will specify a username and password
for your client so that only they can view the report online.
Once the customer web page has been created, Top Producer 7i will query your database
every 15-minutes for any updates that have occurred in the listing (or closing)
service report. If changes have been made, they will automatically be added to the
customer web page.
Note: If your client has both an active listing
and a closing, then the activities from both will appear on the Customer web page.
For this reason, it is recommended to include a preface such as "Closing", or "Listing"
in the notes box of the Add activity... window, at the time you mark the

How to Blind Carbon Copy (Bcc) mass email recipients
You may notice that when sending Top Producer 7i mass email, you cannot specify
Carbon copy (Cc) and Blind carbon copy (Bcc) recipients, which are available when
composing single emails. This is because all mass emails sent by Top Producer 7i
are Blind carbon copied by default.
The mass email feature in Top Producer automatically utilizes Bcc functionality.
When you use the mass email feature, each recipient will see only their name as
a recipient of the email you have sent. This allows you to use the potential of
mass communication to spread your message while maintaining the personal touch that
will win you more clients.
Follow the steps below if you wish to send a mass email where each recipient sees
only their name in the email To: list.
- Point to Email, then click Mass
email.
- Click the To: link.
- Select all of the contacts you wish to send the mass email to. Multiple selections
can be made by holding down the CTRL key while simultaneously clicking each name.
When finished, click OK.
- Notice that the Cc and Bcc
links are not present as they would be when composing a single email within Top
Producer 7i. This is because mass emails are Blind carbon copied by default.
- Complete the rest of the email as normal, and then click Next.
Review the email, and then click Send. Each recipient
will see an email which appears to be sent only to themselves. No other recipients
names or addresses will be visible.
Note: If you simply choose Email,
then click Compose new message and place multiple email
addresses within the To: field, each recipient will see the full set of email addresses in the email
they receive. In other words, be sure to use Mass email when you want the
recipient email addresses to be invisible to your recipients.

Using CMA maps in Top Producer 7i
Top Producer 7i includes full-color maps that plot the subject property, current
listings, recent sales, pending sales and expireds (maps only available at present
for the United States). Follow the steps below to generate maps.
- To generate maps in Top Producer 7i, point to Presentations,
and click Create CMA/Buyer presentation.
- Choose a template and click Next.
- Choose the subject property of the contact you are creating the presentation for,
and click Next.
- Click Finish.
- From the action menu, click Preview maps. This will
open a page which will display a map of the subject property, as well as all comparable
properties. If you have not downloaded or manually entered any comparables, then
the map will show only the subject property. An example map is shown in Figure 1
below.
Figure 1 - Sample map
Message: The following properties could not be located on the map.
After clicking Preview maps, the following error message
may appear:
From the Preview map dialog box, note which addresses could not be found
on the map. As indicated, the error is likely caused by incorrect or insufficient
information in the comparable or subject property address information. Follow these
corrective steps.
- From the CMA for... window, click the first comparable
property that could not be found on the map, and then click View
or edit.
- Confirm that the address is correct and complete. When done, click
Close. Repeat this step for every property that could not be found on the
map.
- From the action menu, click Preview maps. From the
Select map to preview list, select Map of all properties.
- If the properties in question still cannot be found on the map, check the validity
of each address.
- Start by examining the Street name field. The Street name field should only
contain the name of the street, and not the direction or designator. For example,
enter "North Main Street" so that "North" appears in the Direction prefix
or Direction suffix field, "Main" appears in the Street name field,
and "Street" appears in the Street designator field. Preview the map again
to see if the property is now mapped.
- If that does not help, try changing the Direction prefix or suffix from North to N., or
East to E., and so on.
- If this is not successful, try removing the Direction prefix or suffix (N, S, E,
W etc.) altogether.
- Repeat the steps above for each property that can not be mapped.
- If there are still properties that cannot be located on the map, please contact
Top Producer Technical Support.

Starting Top Producer 7i - "Loading, Please Wait" screen never disappears
The steps in this article assume that when you tried to login to Top Producer 7i,
a window appear which says "Loading, Please Wait". After a long period of
time, this window has not disappeared. In most cases, this window is accurate. The
first time you log into Top Producer 7i, or after there has been a system update,
a new copy of the system files Top Producer 7i uses must be downloaded. These files
are approximately 5 megabytes in size, and can take some time to download depending
on your connection speed.
The way to determine if the program is still downloading files, is to look in the
lower left corner of your Internet Explorer window. When the program is downloading
the main Top Producer 7i files, this area should appear similar to the image below:
This area may also read "Applet Started" or "Done", while Top Producer
7i is checking your system to ensure the most recent files are present. While the
files are being verified, this area will flash quickly with other text, then the
program will finish loading and the "Loading, Please Wait" screen will disappear.
If this area does not flash, and simply hangs at " Applet Started" or " Done"
for a long period of time, the loading process may be incomplete. If this is the
case, follow the steps below:
- Close all programs on your Windows Desktop, especially all instances of Internet
Explorer.
- Click the Start button, then point to
Programs (All Programs in Windows XP).
- If you are using Windows XP, click the Control Panel
icon. If you are using Windows 95/98/Me/2000, point to Settings,
then click Control Panel.
- Double-click the Internet Options icon.
- Under Temporary Internet Files, click the Delete Files
button, and click OK when prompted to delete all Temporary
Internet Files.
- Click OK again. Close any windows which are open on
your Desktop.
- Login to Top Producer 7i.
If you have completed these steps and the issue persists, please
contact Top Producer Technical Support at 1-800-830-6047.

When I attempt to login to Top Producer 7i I receive an error message

Unable To Login To Top Producer 7i Due To Pop-up Blocker.
Due to the way that Top Producer 7i functions, users of pop-up blocking software
may find that they are unable to login. If you find that after entering your Top
Producer 7i Username and Password and clicking Login
that a second window does not appear with a "Loading, Please Wait" message, or if
the second window appears briefly and disappears, leaving you back at the login
screen, the most likely culprit is a pop-up blocker.
The steps to resolve this are normally quite simple, and are provided below. Please
click on the appropriate link:
The Windows XP Pop-up Blocker
The first type of pop-up blocker that may be installed on your computer is a feature
of Microsoft's Service Pack 2 for the Windows XP operating system. If your computer
is using Windows XP, has been upgraded to Service Pack 2, and you see an information
bar along the top of the screen like the one pictured below when you try to login,
the Windows XP pop-up blocker is preventing your login.
Note: If you are unsure if your Windows XP computer
has Service Pack 2 installed, click Start, right-click
on the My Computer icon and then click
Properties. (You can also access this information from the System
icon within Control Panel). Note that a computer with Service Pack 2 installed
will display the following information on the System Properties window:
In order to allow Top Producer 7i to successfully login while still retaining the
function of the Windows XP Service Pack 2 pop-up blocker, follow the steps below:
- Close all open Internet Explorer windows.
- Highlight Start, Settings,
double-click Control Panel, and then double-click Internet Options.
- Click on the Privacy tab. Look for the Pop-up blocker
box at the bottom of the window. Click on the Settings
button in this box.
- The window below will be displayed:
- Type www.topproduceronline.com into the
Address Of Web Site To Allow field and click Add.
Ensure that www.topproduceronline.com now appears in
the Allowed Sites box.
- Click Close on the Pop-up Blocker settings dialog box
and then click Ok on the Internet Options window. Log
into Top Producer 7i to ensure that the issue is resolved.
Yahoo! Companion Pop-up Blocker
Yahoo Companion is a toolbar that is bundled in with
other programs you may have installed on your computer. The Yahoo
Companion software includes a pop-up blocking component that may interfere
with the login process of Top Producer 7i. If you have Yahoo Companion
installed, you will see a toolbar like the one pictured below in your Internet Explorer
windows:
In order to configure the Yahoo Companion's pop-up blocking features to allow Top
Producer 7i to open, please follow these steps:
- Click the Pop-Up Blocker menu icon. (
)
- Click on Always Allow Pop-Ups From....
- The window pictured below will appear:
-
In the Sources of Recently Blocked Pop-Ups box, click
on www.topproduceronline.com as indicated by the circled
text at 1 in the image above, then click Allow, as indicated
by the circled button at 2. This will move www.topproduceronline.com
down to the Always Allow Pop-Ups From These Sources
box below. Click Close to finish the configuration.
-
Close any Internet Explorer windows, then restart Internet Explorer and retry the
login.
Additional information about the Yahoo! Companion browser
toolbar is available from Yahoo! at the following URL: http://companion.yahoo.com, including instructions on how
to disable the pop-up blocker and how to uninstall the Yahoo Companion
toolbar completely.
Other Pop-up Blockers
Due to the wide variety of pop-up blocking software that is available today, it
is impossible to provide specific steps to configure each to allow Top Producer
7i to open properly. New pop-up blockers are made available on an almost daily basis,
and it is quite possible to have pop-up blocking software installed on your computer
without your knowledge. Other programs, such as Internet toolbars, anti-virus or
spyware removal programs may automatically install pop-up blocker software on your
computer.
If you are aware of such a program on your computer, consult any help menus or documentation
that came with the software for instructions on how to create exceptions for the
Top Producer 7i website. Most pop-up blockers include the capability to enter the
addresses of websites you wish to allow pop-ups from. In this case, you must configure
the pop-up blocker to allow pop-ups from www.topproduceronline.com.
If reconfiguring your pop-up blocker is not possible, try holding down the left-hand
Ctrl key on your keyboard when you click
Login on the Top Producer 7i login page. In many cases, this will bypass
a pop-up blocking program.
In the event that none of the above steps allow you to login to Top Producer 7i
successfully, please contact our Technical Support Department by email at
support@topproducer.com or by phone at 1-800-830-6047 between 6:00 A.M.
and 5:00 P.M. Pacific time, Monday to Friday.

The Security Warning window appears each time you login to Top Producer
7i

prompts you to install and run Top Producer. This should be a one-time occurrence,
unless the site has been recently updated. If the Security Warning window appears
every time you login, follow these corrective steps.

The Top Producer 7i login window does not load
This issue can be caused by a corrupt Favorites link.
If you access Top Producer 7i from a desktop icon or a Favorites link, then try
this:
From Internet Explorer, click File,
Open, type https://www.topproduceronline.com
in the Open: box, and then click OK. If the page

you expect to see, then follow the steps below.
- Highlight Schedule, point to Today's
business, and then click Summary.
- Examine the user name that appears in the assigned to
list. It is likely that the activities missing from the Summary page are simply
assigned to a different user. If necessary, select All,
or a different user name from the assigned to: list. The activities that
were missing should now display.
- If the activities still do not display, then click the Date
range: link.
- Choose a wider date range that encompasses all the activities you wish to view,

When I select 'I want to print this flyer' and click Finish, no
flyer prints
In some situations, after creating or editing a flyer, and then selecting "I want
to print this flyer" and clicking Finish, no flyer will print. In addition, an hourglass
may appear for a moment and then disappear, and the printer dialogue box may not
appear. The end result is that the flyer will not print, or only a portion of the
flyer will print.
This issue may be related to an image inserted in the flyer that is either too large,
or corrupt in some way. To test this assumption, create another copy of the flyer
so that all of the formatting (font size, style, borders, boxes, etc.) match the
original, but do not insert any images in the new flyer.
Try printing the new flyer. If the flyer prints properly this time, then one or
more of the images inserted in the original flyer are not compatible. If you have
more than one image in the flyer, you can test if a specific image is causing the
problem by reinserting the images into the new flyer one at a time, printing after
each has been inserted. Once you have determined which image is causing the problem,
obtain a new copy of the image, or reformat the image so that it is compatible with
Top Producer.
Note The document
found here provides a method for reformatting images to work with Top Producer.

Does my assistant require a license to access my database?
Any user who knows your Top Producer 7i user name and password has full access to
your database. Therefore, you could share your user name and password with your
assistant, but you could not both login at the same time.
There are three important reasons why you should purchase assistant licenses.
- If your assistant has their own license and login, you can assign to them specific
events, tasks, and to-do's. Plus, you will know who created a specific event, task
or to-do.
- With an assistant license you can control access to your schedule, using the option
"Give this assistant access to Agent schedule" in the assistant setup menu.
- If activities are assigned to your assistant(s) in Top Producer System 6 or
6i, and you do not purchase assistant licenses for Top Producer 7i, these events
will be re-assigned to you during conversion. Therefore, if you want these activities
to retain their "assigned to" status, you will have to purchase the correct number
of assistant licenses, create the assistant users in Top Producer 7i, and then convert
your desktop version data.
Top
Can I restrict which parts of my data are accessible to my assistant?
Yes. You have the option of restricting access to events that are assigned to the
agent. To do this, go to Setup, Agent Setup, click Assistants, and then click View/modify.
To prevent assistants from seeing agent events, disable (uncheck) the option "Give
this assistant access to Agent schedule." At this point the assistant will have
access to all of the data in Top Producer 7i except for the agent events.

Microsoft Java Installation Steps
I followed the instructions, but when I try to login, I receive the "Your internet browser settings are incorrect" pop-up window again.
The Microsoft Java Virtual Machine (JVM) is a software interface that allows internet applications such as TOP PRODUCER 7i to operate on and communicate with your computers hardware and operating system. On newer computers, the Microsoft JVM is not installed by default. Because of this, disabling the Sun JVM may not solve the issue that causes the "Your internet browser settings are incorrect" window to be displayed.
In some cases, the Microsoft JVM installed on your computer may contain some files that are corrupted or not the correct version, which can cause problems when logging in to TOP PRODUCER 7i. The standard solution to correct both of these problems is to reinstall the Microsoft Java Virtual Machine and make sure that it is updated to the most current version.
Windows Version
- The steps below do not apply to Windows 2000. If you are using Windows 2000 and still cannot login to TOP PRODUCER 7i, please contact TOP PRODUCER Technical Support.
- If you are using Windows NT, do not continue below unless you are running Service Pack 3 (SP3) or higher.
- If you are using Windows 95, 98, ME, XP, or Windows NT with SP3, continue to the next section to install the Microsoft Java Virtual Machine.
Note: Please make sure you have read and understood the Windows Version notes above before you proceed here.
- Close all currently running applications.
- Click the following hyperlink to download the msjava.exe file from our web site: http://www.topproducer.com/downloads/msjava.exe.
- From the File Download window, click Save.
- From the Save in: drop-down list, select the Desktop folder.
- Click Save. The file will begin to download to your Windows desktop.
- When the download is complete, locate and double-click the msjava.exe file on your Windows desktop. On the Open File - Security Warning window, click Run. The installation of MS Java files will begin.
- When a window stating The installation is complete appears, click Ok, and restart your computer.
- Once the computer has restarted, try logging in to TOP PRODUCER 7i. If you receive a pop-up window advising that Your internet browser settings are incorrect, follow the instructions on that window then retry the login.
- If the issue persists, or if you have any questions or concerns not addressed by these instructions, please contact Technical Support for assistance. Technical Support can be reached Monday to Friday, 6 am to 5 pm Pacific Time @ 1-800-830-8300, or by email at support@topproducer.com.
